TBS dethrones the King Of The Nerds

In an unbelievably historic development for nerds all over the world, TBS has announced that it will be completely abolishing the nerd monarchy and replacing it with a system of nerd government that will be determined at a later date. This comes from Variety, which reports that the network’s King Of The Nerds reality series has been canceled, leaving the nerd community without any kind of formal leadership for the first time in three seasons of television. Variety doesn’t go into this, but at this point it’s unclear if the current reigning King Of The Nerds champion, Jonathan Adler, surrendered his throne willingly or was deposed by a band of nerd revolutionaries.

King Of The Nerds was hosted by Robert Carradine and Curtis Armstrong, and their experience in Revenge Of The Nerds presumably gave them the insight required to help select a wise and just ruler. Unlike Adler, Armstrong at least has been seen since, tweeting the news about the end of the nerd monarchy on Friday:

For now, the next step will most likely be democratically electing a new nerd leader or allowing one to take control by force. Either way, Wil Wheaton and Chris Hardwick are most likely writing speeches at this very moment.
