TBS is developing a comedy from the Trainspotting author

According to Deadline, TBS is developing a new show written by Irvine Welsh, the author of the novel Trainspotting. The show, which also will be executive produced by Welsh, is called Hype and focuses on the Miami arts scene, presumably a more aesthetically pleasing environment than Welsh’s typical settings of flop houses and dirty public toilets. The only other information we have about the show is that it’s a “gritty half-hour comedy,” but it’s unclear whether that means it’s the type of comedy based on cutthroat-artists grittiness or of the dead-baby-on-the-ceiling variety. If you’re up for more Welsh, Danny Boyle still plans to make the Trainspotting sequel, Porno, right after he accepts some awards for decorating Aaron Sorkin dialogue with some flashbulbs.
