TBS renews Search Party and People Of Earth
The new and improved TBS—now with more peak TV!—has renewed two of its well-reviewed freshman comedies: Both Search Party and People Of Earth are headed for second seasons, the network announced today. The former is a dark satire of millennials, starring Alia Shawkat as a floundering Brooklynite who finds purpose in hunting for a missing acquaintance. The first batch of episodes wrapped up the central mystery, but concluded on a grim note, leaving the future of the main characters very much up in the air. People Of Earth, meanwhile, also plays with genre with a wacky take on an alien abduction tale; Wyatt Cenac stars as a journalist working on a story about a group of people who believe they’ve come into contact with extraterrestrials.
People Of Earth is currently airing at 9 p.m. on Mondays, while Search Party is available on demand.
