TBS will marathon Search Party, announces premiere date for People Of Earth

As reported by Deadline, TBS has announced premiere dates for two highly anticipated new comedy shows that are coming this fall. The first is People Of Earth, which is executive produced by both Conan O’Brien and Greg Daniels, and it stars Wyatt Cenac as a guy investigating a support group for people who have supposedly been abducted by aliens. Though it doesn’t sound overtly spooky, it’ll debut on October 31, the spookiest night of the year. Maybe that means it’ll actually be more horror-themed than TBS has been leading people to believe? Probably not, but we’ll find out in a few months.

TBS’ other big announcement was for Search Party, a murder mystery comedy starring Arrested Development’s Alia Shawkat. She plays a normal twentysomething in the series whose life is fairly boring until she becomes obsessed with solving the mysterious disappearance of someone she kind of knew in college. The show comes from Fort Tilden’s Sarah-Violet Bliss and Charles Rogers, and Michael Showalter oversaw production of the pilot. Search Party will premiere on November 21, but sort of like the Angie Tribeca 24-hour marathon last year, TBS will be airing two episodes a night for that whole week. That means it’ll run through the entire season over the course of a few days to try and hook people onto its serialized setup, and it’ll also re-air the marathon during Christmas and New Year’s.
