A few days ago, Daniel Treacy of the post-punk band Television Personalities sustained an injury that required emergency brain surgery. Treacy is now in an induced coma as police investigate the cause of the blood clot, reports NME. The 51-year-old Treacy is the sole original member still involved in Television Personalities, a cult favorite that has incorporated psychedelic sounds and '60s culture into its punk-rock sensibility since the late '70s. (MGMT fans might know him from the Congratulations track, "Song For Dan Treacy.") In a statement, Television Personalities said "the band is very much concerned for our dear friend and Brother Daniel at this time, and we are all praying for a recovery." [Via Pitchfork]
