Terry Crews to play the no-nonsense police captain in Mike Schur's all-nonsense police comedy
Seeing as no TV police force can rely on its bumbling cops alone, Fox’s still-untitled cop sitcom from Parks And Recreation’s Mike Schur has cast Terry Crews, whose intimidating physicality can shoulder some of that serve-and-protect slack, then bicep-crush some of that other police stuff. Crews—whose comedy cred has certainly been shored up of late, what with his appearing on Arrested Development and talk of an Idiocracy spinoff—will co-star alongside Andy Samberg’s detective, playing the “no-nonsense captain” who will be, inevitably, surrounded by nonsense that he wants no part of. Although, his otherwise typical Angry Black Police Captain character has reportedly “lost some of his edge now that he has a family.” He will still have big muscles and be huge, however.
