America may have problems right now, but at least a Terry Crews shortage isn’t one of them: Vulture reports that the charismatic Brooklyn Nine-Nine star is already spreading himself out a bit on his new home at NBC, where he’ll soon be hosting a spin-off of the popular America’s Got Talent. The Champions will feature several returning favorites from the long-running reality series, who hopefully won’t have to directly compare themselves to Crews, an actor, athlete, pitchman, illustrator, and all-around excellent “guy who likes to jump and smile in photos.” Really, it wouldn’t be fair.
Crews was typically effusive about the job, noting how happy he was “to join Simon, Mel, Heidi and Howie in hosting the #1 alternative series on television,” adding, “Now America’s Got Terry Crews!” Thank god, yeah?
