Test your commitment to Bill Watterson’s integrity with an animated clip of Calvin and Hobbes dancing 

In that recent rare interview Mental Floss did with Calvin And Hobbes creator Bill Watterson, the artist reiterated that he has “zero interest in animating Calving And Hobbes.” But that hasn’t stopped other artists from taking some liberties and making animated shorts with the characters.

For example, animator Adam Brown just created a brief video with the beloved boy and his stuffed tiger. This time, the duo is dancing around together to some old-timey music. Despite Watterson’s wishes to keep his work confined to the strips he wrote and drew, it’s a charming bit of whimsy. As long as Brown doesn’t try to provide voices for the characters or produce extended videos, his tributes should go over just fine.
