Teti’s mom on the foreboding crevices of Naked And Afraid

In the Mom On Pop podcast, Bonney Teti—mother of A.V. Club senior editor John Teti—shares her unfiltered thoughts on the pop culture of the day.

Mom On Pop returns (back in its usual Friday slot after jumping around for a few weeks) with a conversation about Naked And Afraid, a reality show that just wrapped up its fourth season on Discovery. Although the premise sounds salacious—a man and a woman are stripped bare and stranded in a remote wilderness for three weeks—Naked And Afraid is more Survivorman than Temptation Island. In any case, Mom’s a fan. “That crevice sure looks dark,” she raves.

Mom also reviews the Marvel comics Star Wars: Darth Vader and Star Wars: Princess Leia, giving them high marks despite being a bit rusty on her Star Wars lore. We were going to review Mr. Robot, but Mom decided that the show didn’t deserve her attention, and she explains why. Plus, we get the conclusion of the latest post office saga and launch a new reader contest!

Mom On Pop is available on iTunes, and there’s a podcast RSS feed if you want to subscribe to the show in other apps. Never miss an episode!
