Thanos is bringing some of his evil kids to Avengers: Infinity War

In the Infinity Gauntlet comic book storyline that the upcoming Avengers: Infinity War movie is said to be loosely based on, the villain Thanos becomes so all-powerful that the only help he needs to nearly eradicate the entire universe is from Mephisto, Marvel’s non-union equivalent of the Devil. After getting defeated by his own hubris that time, though, Thanos has bolstered his ranks in more recent comic events by assembling the Black Order, a team of glorified henchman who look cool but aren’t really as interesting as their boss. At the D23 expo, Disney revealed that the Black Order—now dubbed The Children Of Thanos—will be appearing alongside Josh Brolin’s Thanos in Infinity War, giving the huge group of heroes who will be stopping by a larger number of bad guys to punch and throw shields at. (They aren’t Thanos’ kids in the comics, but it sounds like that’s changing for the movie.)

You can see a photo of the gang below, along with Brolin hoisting the Infinity Gauntlet into the air:

And here’s a video from IGN, which provides a better look:

It doesn’t sound like any of these colorful goons appeared in the Infinity War footage that a select group of lucky jerks got to see yesterday, and Marvel hasn’t announced who might be playing them in the movie, but The Hollywood Reporter notes that the studio didn’t confirm that Vin Diesel was playing Groot until a few months before Guardians Of The Galaxy came out. That means there’s plenty of time for talented voiceover artists to audition for these characters before Marvel just goes with big-name actors instead.
