That Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. spinoff will probably be about Adrianne Palicki’s Bobbi Morse

Earlier this month, we reported that Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. would soon be getting a (non-Agent Carter-related) spinoff from Marvel and ABC. Now, thanks to Deadline, we know that the show will (probably) be about Adrianne Palicki’s Bobbi “Mockingbird” Morse and Nick Blood’s Lance “Accent Guy” Hunter. We’re saying “probably” because everyone is still “finalizing deals” and “in talks,” so it’s not officially official yet, but it might as well be.

Palicki and Blood both debuted on S.H.I.E.L.D. this season, with the pair playing a former husband and wife who are constantly annoyed by/attracted to each other. More recently, though, things have been stacking up in the “annoyed by” section as Palicki’s character has revealed that she has been working on some secret schemes that Blood’s Lance Hunter isn’t too happy about. Supposedly, something will happen later on in this season that convinces them to start working together again, and then that’s how spinoffs are born. S.H.I.E.L.D. executive producers Jeffrey Bell and Paul Zbyszewski are currently writing the script, and Deadline believes that Zbyszewski will be the showrunner.

This is all in addition to the secret Marvel show that 12 Years A Slave’s John Ridley is working with ABC on, which we just wrote about yesterday. According to a rumor we made up, that show will be about Lockjaw, the Inhumans’ beloved teleporting dog. Eventually, if Marvel plays its cards right, every show on ABC can be an hour-long commercial for the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
