We don’t like to toot our own horn, but—oh, who are we kidding? We’re thrilled to give a big old ”toot, toot” to our own Oliver Sava and the rest of our comics writers, who have been nominated for an Eisner Award for Best Comics-Related Periodical/Journalism! The Will Eisner Comics Industry Awards, created in 1988 to continue the work started by the now-defunct Kirby Awards, reward excellence in comics and are sometimes referred to as the “Oscars of comic books.” No big deal.
The award nomination specifically cites our Comics Panel, Back Issues, and Big Issues features as worthy of praise, so now is the perfect time to catch up on those, don’t you think? The winners of the 2017 Eisner Awards will be announced at the San Diego Comic-Con this coming July, and you can see the full list of nominees here.
