The A.V. Club is co-hosting a Lollapalooza afterparty

If you’re living in Chicago right now, you can probably feel it in the air: Lollapalooza 2016 is a little more than a week away, with all the brain-bending intensity and worries that that implies. Will you be able to see Radiohead? Will Third Eye Blind play “Jumper”? Will this be your last chance to see LCD Soundsystem, before they inevitably reunite again five years from now?

Your friends at The A.V. Club are here to help, offering up a chance to lay down your fest-based worries for an evening. We’ve partnered with Twix (and a bunch of other media companies) for the Collide Chicago Kick-Off Party, which will be held on Thursday, July 28 at the Hard Rock Hotel on Michigan Avenue. And while the 9 p.m. start time means early arrivals will miss festival sets by Lana Del Rey and J. Cole, we’ll have performances from Dinosaur Jr. and Ne-Hi to take off some of the edge. (Also, it’ll be indoors, so you’ll get a break from the slowly growing stench monster hovering over Grant Park for a night.) You can (and, y’know, should) RSVP for the event right here.
