The A.V. Club rode Chicago’s decked-out Holiday Train
Now in its 25th year, the Chicago Transit Authority Holiday Train is one of the city’s biggest seasonal treasures. An elevated train festooned with lights, candy canes, holiday-related jokes, and staffed with elves and a very convincing (and probably very cold) Santa on his own flatbed car, the Holiday Train makes its rounds every year come Christmastime. It rolls right by our offices, prompting sprints toward windows and shouts of glee. We hopped on with a camera and broadcasted live on Thursday, and as you’ll see in the relatively short clip below, we emerged full of holiday spirit.
