The Affair returns for another fun season of trying to figure out relationships

Here’s what’s happening in the world of television for Sunday, June 17. All times are Eastern.

Top picks

The Affair (Showtime, 9 p.m.): As our favorite mixed-doubles combos in The Affair return for season four, we find Helen and Vic out on the West Coast, with Noah tagging along so that he can see the kids. Cole appears to still be with Luisa, and Alison appears to be missing. The first episode focuses on that first trio, as Helen and Noah have strikingly different versions of curriculum night at Trevor’s school. After all the considerable drama and intrigue (Scotty’s murder, Noah in prison, and whatever all that Paris stuff was about) of seasons past, it’s nice to see the show return to the acting stretches that made it famous, as Noah goes from meek and deprecating in his version of events to a raving lunatic in Helen’s. Gwen Ihnat is on board once again for reviews; she’s just glad that it looks like Professor SexFrench is out of the picture.

Regular coverage

Ghosted (Fox, 9:30 p.m.)
Pose (FX, 9 p.m.)
Westworld (HBO, 9 p.m.)

Wild card

Queer Eye (Netflix): The new Fab Five is back, as the 11 episodes of season two dropped last week. Danette Chavez calls this season “new and inclusive,” as the FF makeovers will include women and trans men. They even help build a community center for a church. Chavez says, “This more inclusive look suits the series, whose previous iteration frustrated some viewers with its hetero-outreach.” We teared up at the trailer (dammit, Antoni!) so will definitely make room for this in the weekend binge-watch schedule.
