Maybe I was wrong about America's Got Talent.
I didn't realize that it was actually a televised form of The American Dream: a show where a 33-year-old Russian immigrant can put on his sparkly, sword-swallowing boots and red-tipped angel wings and–much like that great American, Tinkerbell–work his way to the top through determination, dramatic tears, and furious, life-sustaining clapping from the audience. (It also helps if Brandy likes you for some reason.)
