Most trailers and teasers for Doctor Strange have pushed the film’s stunning visuals and mind-bending mystique, but a new TV spot infuses a whole lot of cuteness. Doctor Strange is the 14th film in the MCU, and star Benedict Cumberbatch pays hairy homage to all the heroes who have come before him. From Tony Stark to the Hulk, the Avengers all get the puppy treatment. That is, except for Black Widow and Hawkeye, but we assume that oversight is just due to their not having their own film franchises (at the moment). We’re not sure a St. Bernard is the right pick for Iron Man–was the whiskey-barrel myth behind the choice?—but that puppy is basically Steve Rogers. He even runs off camera, probably in search of Bucky. The pug hasn’t quite nailed Cumberbatch’s demeanor, but at least he got the cape to hold still.
Doctor Strange hits theaters on November 4 (yes, this week).
