The Baby-Sitters Club is getting a new TV adaptation from some GLOW and Broad City alums

It’s time yet again to divide ourselves between the Kristys and the Mary Anne’s of the world, the Claudias and the hated Dawns, for the stars are right, and The Baby-Sitters Club is coming back to TV. These particular omens come courtesy of The Hollywood Reporter, which notes that a 2018 TV reboot of the long-running book series—headed up by Michael De Luca, Broad City’s Lucia Aniello, and GLOW’s Rachel Shukert, who’ll serve as showrunner—is currently being shopped around a Hollywood hungry for tween and teen-focused content.

Originally written by (and consistently published under the name of) author Ann M. Martin, the Baby-Sitters Club books have been a fixture of kid lit for three decades, telling the drama-light stories of a group of industrious middle-schoolers embracing that entrepreneurial, Silicon Valley spirit that America so dearly loves. The 213-book series has been adapted a few times in the past, including a TV series on HBO in 1990, a film version in 1995, and a graphic novel version that’s currently on the New York Times’ Bestseller List. But now it’s getting revived once again for the small screen, presumably with, like, smartphones and shit (plus a bunch of people who have recently proven their TV bona fides). No word yet on when the show might come to TV, or what network it’ll land on if it does.
