The Baskets family proudly presents the Baskets Family Rodeo

Here’s what’s happening in the world of television for Tuesday, January 23. All times are Eastern.

Top pick

Baskets (FX, 10 p.m.): Despite Chip Baskets’ (Zach Galifianakis) best, Russian-circus-aided efforts, the classically trained clown with anger-management issues got sucked back into the vortex of family drama in season two. It’s to his detriment, but to his mother’s and brother’s advantage—and the same goes for the dark comedy that bears their surname. The Baskets family has bought a rodeo, and as season three begins, it’s going about as well as can be expected: Chip’s belligerent about having to hire more clowns, the horses and their handlers hate Dale, and Christine is throwing herself into the preparations for a local news interview. It’s bound to be a disaster; we can’t wait to watch it play out.

Regular coverage

The Flash (The CW, 8 p.m.)
Black Lightning (The CW, 9 p.m.)
This Is Us (NBC, 9 p.m.)

Wild card

Todd Glass: Act Happy (Netflix): In honor of Todd Glass’ new special—in which he does an hour of stand-up backed by a small musical combo—Glass’ friends and fans have given him the gift of months and months of tweets about getting tickets to the taping. A taping that took place well in the past, and is not taking place today, January 23, 2018, which is when Act Happy premieres on Netflix. So, please, whatever you do, watch Act Happy on Netflix, and do not contact Todd Glass on Twitter about tickets for the Act Happy taping. If you must ask Todd Glass about Act Happy, please call him on his cellphone so he can set the record straight.
