Here’s what’s up in the world of TV for Thursday, May 7. All times are Eastern.

The Big Bang Theory (CBS, 8 p.m.): The Big Bang Theory’s eighth season finale is all about relationships. Specifically, the fact that Leonard and Penny have yet to set a wedding date as well as the fact that Amy is frustrated with her slow-moving relationship with Sheldon. And since CBS is promising it will be “Big Bang’s biggest night ever” this could very well be the episode where Leonard and Penny finally get married or even where Sheldon and Amy finally consummate their relationship. Or maybe everyone will break up and die alone—Kyle Fowle doesn’t judge.

Adventure Time (Cartoon Network, 7:30 p.m.): Cuber, the futuristic narrator of the “Five Short Graybles” episodes, has been a bit of a mysterious presence on Adventure Time so far. Tonight, however, he finally takes center stage when he’s marooned on an alien island. Oliver Sava thinks that’s triode flimpin’ the diode!
The Vampire Diaries (The CW, 8 p.m.): It seems like every week someone is taking a road trip on The Vampire Diaries. This time around its Stefan and Damon doing the ‘tripping as the latter decides whether or not to turn human to be with his newly-humanized love Elena (the departing Nina Dobrev). But more importantly Alaric and Jo are getting married and Carrie Raisler doesn’t have a thing to wear.
Reign (The CW, 9 p.m.): While Reign usually centers on court intrigue rather than military prowess, the show might just offer an honest-to-goodness medieval battle in this week’s episode, “The Siege.” Troops storm the castle and Mary and Francis have to ban together to figure out what to do. Caroline Framke is hoping this episode will be to Reign what “Blackwater” was to Game Of Thrones.

To Z celebrates the matriarchs of television (and movies and books) we’d love to be raised by with a list of the best fictional moms. Then later in the day, Daredevil’s Bob Gunton talks through his diverse career in a brand new Random Roles.
What else is on?
Bones (Fox, 8 p.m.): Apropos of nothing—at least as far as we can tell—there’s two-hours of Bones tonight. The death of a high-school student brings up bad memories for Brennan, and then in the second episode she has to figure out if a serial killer is actually guilty a few hours before he’s set to be executed.
Dig (USA, 10 p.m.): Remember this nutty international political thriller/supernatural mystery show? Well it reaches its season (and possibly series) finale tonight. According to TV Guide Channel, “Peter races to stop the Order of Moriah from destroying the Temple Mount and bringing about the End of Days.” Funnily enough, that’s exactly what we’d expect a Dig plot description to sound like.
The Red Road (Sundance, 10 p.m.): Red Road also reaches a season finale tonight. We can only assume Jason Momoa’s Phillip Kopus will continue to be intense and brooding, but not quite as intense and brooding as he is in that Aquaman photo.
Dead End Express (NGC, 10 p.m.): National Geographic’s latest series follows the various ways in which supplies are delivered to people living off the grid in the U.S. The season premiere features jet boats and bush pilots and horse packers, oh my!
Lost In Transmission (History, 10 p.m.): Top Gear U.S. co-host Rutledge Wood launches this new History Channel series where he finds neglected cars to restore. First up: a 1981 DeLorean submerged in Hurricane Sandy. We’re guessing he’s going to need 1.21 gigawatts of power to finish up the repairs.
The Pride Of The Yankees (TCM, 5:45 p.m.): Gary Cooper stars as Lou Gehrig in this 1942 biopic about the legendary baseball player whose premature death touched the nation.
The Princess Bride (BBC America, 8 p.m.): Fix an MLT (mutton, lettuce, and tomato sandwich), grab your ROUS (rodent of unusual size), and have fun storming the castle with this 1987 fairy tale classic.
Stanley Cup Playoffs
Your What’s On Tonight Correspondent may have a fairly limited knowledge of sports, but the fact that there are only two games tonight must mean we’re getting close to the final Stanley Cup match-up, right? Right?!?!
