The Blacklist makes NBC’s early-renewal list

NBC is showing its commitment to drama in 2016-2017 with early renewals of Law & Order: SVU, Blindspot, Chicago Fire and Chicago P.D. And now, according to Deadline, the network has also picked up The Blacklist for a fourth season. Jon Bokenkamp’s crime drama was renewed for a third season back in February along with two-thirds of Dick Wolf’s emergency-personnel empire, though it didn’t nab the rumored two-season extension at the time. The Blacklist took a bit of a hit in the ratings after moving to Thursday night, though Deadline notes that it remains one of NBC’s strongest performers. James Spader, his fedora, and Megan Boone’s bad wigs will return to primetime on January 7, 2016 at 8 p.m. ET.
