The cast of Game Of Thrones is suffering for you
Last year, we reported that HBO was delaying its flagship fantasy epic Game Of Thrones in order to let winter more thoroughly come. Now, in a classic case of “Be careful what you wish for, especially if you are a TV show, and what you are wishing for is crappy weather,” Page Six reports that the show’s North-based cast is being buffeted by 100 mile-per-hour winds and temperatures as cold as 13 below.
The crew is currently filming in Iceland, where they’re forced to use “super Jeeps” to bring in equipment for the five hours of usable shooting light every day. Meanwhile, the extreme wind conditions forced everybody to basically shout their dialogue, good news for fans who thought the show was insufficiently yell-y. The Page Six article also includes a few spoilers for which of the show’s cast members got the opportunity to endure these wintry conditions, hunkering down in wind-proofed tents for every second they weren’t absolutely required to be out in front of the camera. Kit Harrington, Liam Cunningham, Joe Dempsie, Rory McCann, and Kristofer Hivju—a.k.a. Jon Snow, Davros Seaworth, Gendry, Sandor Clegane, and Tormund Giantsbane—are all apparently suffering for your fun. Game Of Thrones is expected to air its seventh season some time later this year.
