The cast of The Office reunited for brunch at what we can only assume was a Chili's
Steve Carrell might not be so hot on NBC’s potential revival of The Office, but a number of its other cast members, including A-lister John Krasinski, are into the idea. Of course, an Office revival doesn’t need Carrell to work (in fact, it’s probably a bad idea to bring him back at all), as the series boasts a deep, formidable ensemble that seem eager to revisit their old desks. This past weekend, a number of them gathered together for brunch, and now we can’t stop wondering when Chili’s started serving it.
Jenna Fischer, Rainn Wilson, Angela Kinsey, Ed Helms, Creed Bratton, Brian Baumgartner, Paul Lieberstein, Leslie David Baker, Phyllis Smith and Oscar Nunez are all on hand for the photo, which Fischer clarified on Twitter was an attempt to recreate a yuletide-themed shot from the series. It’s not a perfect recreation, what with Carell, Krasinski, Mindy Kaling, BJ Novak and Kate Flannery missing, but it’s enough to help you remember that no Office star should be trusted when they turn their nose up at the idea of a reunion
Regardless of whether the photo is a harbinger of more workplace antics to come, the gathering appears to have been a heartwarming one. “Some of the old gang got together today… it was so great to see everyone!” Kinsey wrote on Twitter. “I turned to Ed and said, ‘I feel like we are at a family reunion.’ He smiled and said, ‘We are.’”
The status of the revival is still up in the air as NBC continues to sift through all of its IP in search of more ratings, so take the rumor mill with a grain of salt and distract yourself with this: the Office/SpongeBob crossover you didn’t know you needed.
