The claws are out in the final X-Men: Apocalypse trailer

The end is upon us—that is, the end of teases and trailers for X-Men: Apocalypse. 20th Century Fox has released the so-called final trailer for Bryan Singer’s follow-up to Days Of Future Past, which pits Professor Xavier’s (James McAvoy) latest batch of gifted youngsters against Apocalypse (Oscar Isaac) and his Four Horsemen. Magneto (Michael Fassbender) is among them, his path having once again diverged from his buddy Charles’. Xavier is sidelined early on, which leaves Mystique (Jennifer Lawrence) to lead the untested team into battle. But she’s also on the hunt for new recruits, which leads to a scene in which Nightcrawler fawns over her. Classic X-Men villain The Blob shows up briefly at the feet of a pre-Apocalypse Angel, but the cameo that will probably be the most talked about is that of Wolverine, whose appearance was foretold by his luggage. Okay, so we really only see his claws and a grateful Cyclops (Tye Sheridan) and Jean Grey (Sophie Turner), but you get the point.

X-Men: Apocalypse hits theaters on May 27.
