The creator of Veep goes to Russia in The Death Of Stalin trailer

With the lines between the American government and the Russian one growing blurrier all the time, perhaps it makes sense that no one even attempts a Russian accent in the trailer for The Death Of Stalin. The new film from Veep and The Thick Of It creator Armando Iannucci is set in Moscow in 1953, where the USSR’s top officials are reeling after the death of their leader, dictator Joseph Stalin. Under Iannucci’s satirical lens, however, it could be any political clusterfuck throughout history. Steve Buscemi, Jeffrey Tambor, Simon Russel Beale, Paddy Considine, Rupert Friend, Jason Isaacs, and Andrea Riseborough all star in this Dr. Strangelove for the new millennium.

The Death Of Stalin will screen at this year’s Toronto International Film Festival, and is set to hit cinemas in the U.K. on October 20, if we make it that long.
