With the third season of HBO’s animated series Animals underway, The A.V. Club jumped into a swan boat on Echo Park Lake with creators Phil Matarese and Mike Luciano to talk about the new slate of episodes. This season has already featured an impressive roster of voice talent, including Gina Rodriguez, Jameela Jamil, Lucy Liu, and Tracy Morgan, all starring as various animals in the show’s post-apocalyptic version of New York. While on the lake, The A.V. Club asked Matarese and Luciano to cast old school celebrities like Marlon Brando, Lucille Ball, and Mike Piazza as animals on their show.
