The CW renews the stuff that's working, i.e. Supernatural, The Vampire Diaries, and Arrow

Gradually edging away from shows in which young people with sculpted cheekbones sleep with each other and it’s complicated, and toward shows in which young people with sculpted cheekbones sometimes sleep with each other and it’s complicated because of monsters and supervillains, The CW has issued renewals to Supernatural, The Vampire Diaries, and Arrow. The three hit series are now clearly considered the network’s flagships, confirming—along with those obvious attempts to copy The Hunger Games and try again with Wonder Woman—that The CW is increasingly looking to build itself around genre fare, rather than the Gossip Girl-inspired soaps that once lingered around its schedule like so many bored, idle rich. It’s too soon to say, but that direction could mean bad news for on-the-bubble shows like 90210 and The Carrie Diaries, where the only monsters are its horribly self-involved teenage girls and walking dead properties. It also confirms that the producers of Beauty And The Beast (which pretty much seems a lost cause at this point) probably should have monstered up that guy’s face a little more.
