The Daily Show’s Jordan Klepper will host his own Comedy Central series

Comedy Central is going to install one of its own in the time slot it unceremoniously took away from Larry Wilmore last summer, announcing today that Jordan Klepper will have his own show airing at 11:30 p.m. come this fall. The network is banking on Klepper’s “Daily Show persona,” often that of a clueless bro, meaning he’ll likely host as “Jordan Klepper” the same way Stephen Colbert once hosted his own nightly show as “Stephen Colbert.”

Per a press release, the new project “will look to embrace and define the chaos of our country by channeling Klepper’s steadfast attitude that institutions are to be trusted less than the lies of the mainstream media.” The still-untitled program will begin airing Mondays through Thursdays. In the interim, that half-hour will be filled on at least one of those days with The President Show featuring Anthony Atamanuik’s Trump impression.
