The end is near for Pretty Little Liars
As unthinkable as it may be, Pretty Little Liars creator and showrunner I. Marlene King confirmed during a Facebook chat today that the upcoming second half of the show’s seventh season will be the end for what is essentially Freeform’s Breaking Bad. That chat—which is embedded below—also featured stars Troian Bellisario, Ashley Benson, Lucy Hale, Shay Mitchell, and Sasha Pieterse, and they billed the announcement as “special and amazing” even if it made them “kinda sad.” The final string of 10 Pretty Little Liars episodes will begin airing in April of 2017, and Deadline says they’ll be “filled with homecomings and reunions” as well as the return of old characters and a “#PLLWedding” for one of the eponymous Liars.
Pretty Little Liars will wrap it all up with a two-hour finale, and King’s new series Famous In Love will premiere right after it. That show stars Bella Thorne as an “ordinary college student” who gets a role in a big Hollywood production. Deadline refers to the show as a “soapy drama,” so if Famous In Love can throw in some extremely drawn-out murder mysteries and conspiracies, it sounds like it could be a worthy successor to the #PLL throne.
