The final Daredevil trailer brings the action

The second season of Marvel’s Netflix series Daredevil—you know, the Hell’s Kitchen superhero who isn’t Jessica Jones—drops this Friday, March 18, and Netflix just released a final trailer that focuses almost exclusively on action. Yes, Charlie Cox’s Matt Murdock is technically a lawyer in addition to a crime fighter, but the trailer forgoes affidavits and plea deals in favor of explosions, hand-to-hand combat, and just a little bit of kissing. All of that action is set to a dramatic Hans Zimmer-esque score, lending the trailer some serious gravitas and a definite Dark Knight sort of vibe.

Elsewhere, Matt’s not-entirely beloved mentor Stick (Scott Glenn) returns, alongside more shots of Jon Bernthal’s Punisher (who got more of a focus in a previous trailer) and Elodie Yung’s Elektra (ditto). Though this final trailer doesn’t offer too much information about the second season’s plot, it’s clear that violence, cool weapons, and midair cartwheels are definitely going to be a part of it. The A.V. Club will be discussing all that and more in our weekend-of-release binge reviews of Daredevil’s second season, which start Friday evening.
