The first Hunger Games: Mockingjay trailer has Panem drama, Philip Seymour Hoffman

Things are getting even bleaker in Panem, judging by the new teaser trailer for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1. The clip’s only a minute long, but features all sorts of ominous details, from the Mockingjay icon carved into a field in District 11 to the chatter between Julianne Moore and the late Philip Seymour Hoffman, making one of his final film appearances. But as always, the whole thing centers on Jennifer Lawrence’s Katniss Everdeen and her attempts to rally the troops—though Lawrence doesn’t really get any play in this brief preview until the end, right before the whole screen bursts into CGI flames.

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 hits theaters Friday, November 21.
