The first trailer for Alien: Covenant bursts out for Christmas

Here’s some horror for your Christmas. 20th Century Fox has released the first trailer for Alien: Covenant, so if you wanted to spend your holiday watching a creature bloodily emerge from a person’s back, you’re in luck. The follow-up to Prometheus, directed once again by Ridley Scott, follows an ill-fated trip to a planet. Michael Fassbender is back from the earlier film, but has said he is now playing two androids. He stares eerily in the trailer, which also features a “Nature Boy” cover, malevolent-seeming particles nestling in an ear, and sexy shower time ruined by gruesome death. Covenant stars Katherine Waterston, whose character wisely notes they “don’t know what the fuck’s out there,” as well as Danny McBride, Billy Crudup, and Jussie Smollett. It’s due out May 19, 2017.
