The Flaming Lips covering all of Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band

It seems that Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band has become The Flaming Lips’ new Dark Side Of The Moon. The band is set to release With A Little Help From My Fwends, a full cover of the classic Beatles album featuring various heady Lips collaborators, on October 28. Those who pre-order the record from May 18 onward will get a free download of the #hardtotwerkto cover of “Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds” featuring Miley Cyrus (which was recently played live on Cyrus’ BANGERZ tour). Generous as they often are, the Lips will donate a portion of the album sales to the Bella Foundation in their hometown of Oklahoma City. The organization helps less fortunate pet owners pay their veterinary bills.

Those longing for the days before The Flaming Lips spent its time collaborating with gratuitous pop stars and revisiting untouchable classic albums should be directed here, as a reminder that things weren’t always like this.
