The Following racks up its body count

Here’s what’s up in the world of TV for Monday, March 2. All times are Eastern.

Top pick

The Following (Fox, 9 p.m.): The Following is more or less a default top pick for tonight, as it returns with its third season premiere. Joe Carroll is nowhere to be seen, but plenty of people get killed, because if there’s one thing you can count on when it comes to The Following it’s the fact that its body count is always on the rise. Coherent storytelling, on the other hand, is not something you can count on.

Also noted

Better Call Saul (AMC, 10 p.m.): On “Alpine Shepherd Boy,” Jimmy has to make a difficult choice! It’ll be hard to top last week’s episode, but Better Call Saul has been on quite the roll.

House Of Cards (Netflix): Maybe you’ve already slammed your way through all of season three of House Of Cards or maybe you’re being a major slacker about it. But The A.V. Club serves up a double dose of Cards coverage today, with a review of the whole season by Joshua Alston, who was very busy chipping away at the world of Frank Underwood all weekend. Then Scott Von Doviak kicks off episode-by-episode coverage today for TV Club with two reviews every Monday and Friday until we’re at the end.

Regular coverage

Gotham (Fox, 8 p.m.)

Star Wars Rebels (Disney XD, 9 p.m.)

Elsewhere in TV Club

Ever watch an episode of TV and immediately decide—for one reason or another—that you’ll never be watching that again? We’ve got an Inventory of TV episodes too bloody, emotional, or awkward for a rewatch. Chopped fans will also want to check out this Expert Witness, in which The A.V. Club talks with Josh Lewis, a former competitor on the show, about what it’s like in the high-stakes kitchen. Then, in a new For Our Consideration, Kayla Kumari Upadhyaya takes you through the problems that persist on The Following, which still doesn’t know how to talk about violence.

What else is on?

The Bachelor: The Women Tell All (ABC, 8 p.m.): Chris comes face to face with 17 of the women he rejected, and they get to share their side. This episode includes bloopers from the season.

The Voice (NBC, 8 p.m.): The Blind Auditions round continues, and Adam Levine starts to wonder why no one seems to want to join his team.

The Fosters (ABC Family, 8 p.m.): To distract herself, Mariana organizes a protest at school. Callie finds out Kiarah is on the streets in San Diego. Jude takes a crucial step with Connor.

American Dad (TBS, 9 p.m.): Francine decides she’s not going to feed Steve anymore when he mouths off at her, so Steve turns into a hotshot chef. Stan believes he can make people disappear by snapping his fingers.

13 Going On 30 (Pop TV, 8 p.m.): Of all the romcoms about powerful women who work at magazines, this has got to be the best. Become “30, flirty, and thriving” with Jennifer Garner, and don’t forget the Razzles!

Jurassic Park (AMC, 6 p.m.): Or maybe dinosaurs are more your thing. The Chris Pratt-starring Jurassic World comes out this summer, so it’s time to brush up on your dinos-on-the-loose knowledge.

Women’s Basketball: Connecticut at South Florida (ESPN2, 7 p.m.): Connecticut blitzed the South Florida Bulls on January 18 by 42 points. The Bulls seek revenge.

In case you missed it

The Good Wife: Alicia Florrick returned to television last night, and Kayla Kumari Upadhyaya was…underwhelmed.
