The Game Of Thrones season 7 finale will spread its wings to feature length

Sure, the final two seasons of Game Of Thrones are going to be shorter than usual, but at least some of the episodes will be long. Specifically, the finale of the seventh season—set to premiere in July—will essentially be movie length. According to Entertainment Weekly, it will hover around 90 minutes, ranking as Thrones’ lengthiest episode.

EW’s information comes both straight from the source—namely, the showrunners—and from a leaked collection of runtimes that more or less corroborates those statements, which were given prior to anything being finalized. “One will be our longest episode ever—it’s coming in around 90 minutes,” David Benioff explained, also noting: “Another is going to be our shortest episode at 50 minutes.” The leak, according to EW, puts the finale at 81 minutes. Either way, it’s going to be an event.
