The Get Down finally closes out its first season

Here’s what’s up in the world of TV for Friday, April 7. All times are Eastern.

Top pick

The Get Down (Netflix, 3:01 a.m.): The first six episodes of Baz Luhrmann’s ambitious, expensive show about hip-hop’s early days debuted back in August. Months later, Netflix is finally putting out the rest of the inaugural season. Dan Caffrey will catch up with Zeke, Shaolin, and Mylene.

Regular coverage

Reign (The CW, 9 p.m.)
RuPaul’s Drag Race (VH1, 8 p.m.)

Wild card

Win It All (Netflix, 3:01 a.m.): Yes, Netflix is relentless, but you probably already knew that. The streaming service is also premiering a movie from Joe Swanberg in which his frequent collaborator Jake Johnson stars as a gambler. Our review called it “far and away the most conventional and accessible movie that Swanberg—a prolific, often idiosyncratic no-budget filmmaker—has helmed to date.” So make of that what you will.
