The Gifted will save us all (from boredom)

The Gifted will save us all (from boredom)

Here’s what’s happening in the world of television for Monday, December 4. All times are Eastern.

Top pick

The Gifted (Fox, 9 p.m.): The episode titles for The Gifted have all been shoutouts to the X-Gene (and X-Men, though we’ve seen neither hide nor hair of them), but tonight, the show goes for the hat trick with “outfoX,” which throws in a nod to the studio/network. Slow clap.

But, more importantly, “outfoX” will see the Mutant Underground go on another daring rescue mission, which a preview promises us will not go according to plan. But the promo also shows the Strucker kids activating a Wonder Twins-like power, so maybe they’re not so outmatched after all.

Regular coverage

Lucifer (Fox, 8 p.m.)
Supergirl (The CW, 8 p.m.)
She’s Gotta Have It (Netflix)

Wild card

Robert Kirkman’s Secret History Of Comics: The Color Of Comics (AMC, 10 p.m.): In this installment of the Walking Dead creator’s ongoing exploration of comics and the people behind them, we learn the secret history of Milestone Media (makers of Milestone Comics), which was founded by a coalition of black artists in the early ’90s to combat the severe underrepresentation of people of color in comic books.
