The Gilmore Guys finally meet the Gilmore Girls
The Gilmore Guys podcast—which has been revisiting every episode of Gilmore Girls for the past two years—has landed plenty of high-profile guests from the world of the show. They’ve chatted with Scott Patterson (a.k.a Luke Danes), Milo Ventimiglia (a.k.a. Jess Mariano), and Sam Phillips (a.k.a. the woman behind the show’s “la-la” heavy score). But two people who have eluded them are the Gilmore Girls themselves, Lauren Graham and Alexis Bledel. Thankfully all has been set right in the universe now that hosts Kevin Porter and Demi Adejuyigbe finally got a chance to sit down with Graham and Bledel during a press event on the set of the Netflix revival.
The interview was actually filmed back in March, but the Guys weren’t able to release it until the embargo on revival material lifted a few days ago. It’s all quite jovial and cozy, as befits the pleasant world of Stars Hollow. But there’s clearly a lot of anticipation for the interview on both sides. Graham starts out by joking about how offended she is that she hasn’t been invited on the podcast yet. And Adejuyigbe later notes that he feels like Anderson Cooper meeting the president after talking about him on air. “It’s just like that,” Bledel agrees.
With that high-profile meeting out of the way, all that’s left is for the Gilmore Guys to snag an interview with Melissa McCarthy. Although considering how much work it took for the Gilmore Girls revival itself to get her, that might be more of a pipe dream. They’ll just have to settle for watching her (briefly) revisit her role as Sookie St. James when Gilmore Girls: A Year In The Life drops on Netflix on November 25.
