The Glee cast now has more Billboard 100 songs than The Beatles

This week’s Billboard chart reveals that once-popular music group The Beatles has had its record for most Hot 100 appearances by a non-solo act surpassed by the karaokemoting cast of Fox’s Glee. The show—which received a boost thanks to its recent Britney Spears episode—had six songs debut on the chart this week, giving it 75 overall to The Beatles’ 71. Elvis Presley still leads with 108, followed by James Brown at 91, and then Glee, but seeing as the show is barely into its second season, there’s definitely the possibility that they’ll eventually take top honors. Of course, it’s a lot easier to hit the Top 100 over and over again when all of your songs are just versions of already-established hits, but history cares not for such quibbling details.
