Jeopardy! has had its fair share of famous players over the years, from Anderson Cooper to Willy Wonka’s Mike Teavee to Austin Rogers, who became a celebrity the moment he walked onstage. None, however, could ever hope to be as fabulous as last night’s guest presenter: RuPaul.
The drag luminary challenged contestants with questions that centered around the intersection of film and drag culture. Each was answered with confidence by the assembled brainiacs, who’ve clearly seen Mrs. Doubtfire and The Birdcage as much as the rest of us. Watch it all play out above.
The most exciting part, however, was not RuPaul’s appearance so much as Trebek’s announcement that he’d be guesting on an upcoming episode of RuPaul’s Drag Race, which is currently airing its 10th season. Let it be known that the smatter of polite, uncomfortable laughter from the studio audience does not reflect our own enthusiasm at this surprising, yet delightful, pairing.
