The Good Place makes the case for hibernation
Here’s what’s happening in the world of television for Thursday, January 4. All times are Eastern.
Top pick
The Good Place (NBC, 8:30 p.m.): The newly-crowned best TV show of 2017 (in our neck of the woods, anyway) returns to help make hunkering down in your thermal underwear look much more appealing. The winter premiere, “Leap Of Faith,” sees Eleanor (Kristen Bell) and the gang trying to decide for themselves whether they can really trust Michael (Ted Danson). And to make the most out of your bid for hibernation, we recommend bingeing the first season, as well as the first half of season two.
Regular coverage
Will & Grace (NBC, 9 p.m.)
Great News (NBC, 9:30 p.m.)
Top Chef (Bravo, 10 p.m.)
Wild card
Project Runway All Stars (Lifetime, 9 p.m.; season-six premiere): The new crop of Project Runway also-rans includes Fabio Costa, Amanda Valentine (her brother’s in Maroon 5, which is all we can really remember about her), Edmond Newton, Ken Laurence, and Candice Cuoco.
