The Gotti biopic goes legit by hiring screenwriter James Toback
Now that Barry Levinson has signed on to direct the somehow-not-a-USA-Network-movie Gotti: Three Generations, every effort is currently being expended to class it up a little, and overcome its increasingly ridiculous casting. To that end, James Toback (Two Girls And A Guy, Tyson) has been brought in to rewrite the screenplay from Leo Rossi, and hopefully revive some of the award-winning mob film magic he made with Levinson on Bugsy. In mafia terms, this is what is known as “going legit,” we suppose. Or maybe it’s just the “waste management” front for what is still at heart a shady operation.
