The Hold Steady's Craig Finn working on a screenplay based on Chuck Klosterman's Fargo Rock City

Given the vicissitudes of movie production this may never come to anything, but according to The Hollywood Reporter, The Hold Steady's frontman Craig Finn is collaborating with The Late Show With David Letterman writer Tom Ruprecht on a screenplay based on Chuck Klosterman's coming-of-age memoir Fargo Rock City. Klosterman will serve as a producer on the film-to-be, which will be about North Dakota high school kids in the '80s, hanging out while getting ready to move on with their lives. Sort of like Dazed & Confused meets American Graffiti meets… well, Fargo Rock City. So long as Finn can resist the temptation to work characters named Holly and Charlemagne into the story, this could be okay.
