The Humpers: Plastique Valentine

The Humpers: Plastique Valentine

After years of toiling in obscurity, the members of The Humpers are ready to break, relatively speaking. Musically, the band has been drinking from the same still as New Bomb Turks and The Didjits, and the resultant moonshine madness manifests itself in revved-up Jerry Lee Lewis dirty rockers that will set any house to jumpin'. From the opening bassline of Plastique Valentine, the band works this sound into a lather, griping about dead-end jobs, go-nowhere lives, bad girls, dumb guys, and what-not. In the '50s, parents would have been in an uproar about this hip-wiggling devil music. The Humpers guys churn it out like they expect those parents to pull the plug at any moment, and the members are just waiting for that excuse to start a rumble. It's enough to make you want to be a 16-year-old J.D. all over again for the very first time.
