After the role of the teenaged, waifish, olive-skinned Katniss Everdeen in the upcoming adaptation of The Hunger Games went to the not-any-of-those-things Jennifer Lawrence, the actors playing Peeta and Gale have, not surprisingly, also skewed slightly older and whiter: A press release now confirms that longtime frontrunners Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth will play Peeta and Gale, respectively, ending several months of speculation and lobbying, at least on Hutcherson’s part. Hutcherson is perhaps best known for his role in The Kids Are All Right, while Hemsworth is, of course, the guy who taught Miley Cyrus how to love both on-screen and off with little more than a heartfelt removal of his shirt. Anyway, the film's hair dye budget just tripled.
