The internet’s cutest puppies are speaking out against Trump

Now even adorable dogs are standing up to Donald Trump. Uproxx is reporting that the very popular Twitter feed Emergency Puppy has been under fire from some Trump supporters and/or apolitical dog lovers who are mad the handle has been posting pictures like this:

Emergency Puppy’s political activism really kicked up in the past few months, after this little guy or gal encouraged people to get out to the polls:

The handle didn’t post any images from November 8 to January 13, and when it came back, the puppies were paired with either inspirational messages about taking care of you first and drinking enough water or Camus quotes about how “the only way to deal with an unfree world is to become so absolutely free that your very existence is an act of rebellion.” For instance:

That has spawned some dissent amongst Emergency Puppy’s followers, like @KlaatuPensacola, who found his exchange screenshot in a James Poniewozik tweet.

That “nyah nyah” dog has become Emergency Puppy’s go-to symbol for “shove off,” as evidenced by the site’s exchanges with other not-so-liberal dog lovers.

While some of Emergency Puppy’s followers have no doubt unsubscribed, it seems like the strife has caused other, more liberal-minded people to flock to the site in support of what it’s so adorably trying to accomplish. Fellow dog-loving Twitter account We Love Dogs has even gotten in on the action, tweeting out several anti-Trump dog pics to its 1.16 million followers over the past few days.

Celebrity canine Marnie The Dog even chimed in with her opinion last night.

Here’s hoping more animals will get on board. The National Zoo’s pandas, for instance? They surely have something to say.
