The Julie Ruin was really good on Late Night With Seth Meyers

Kathleen Hanna and the other members of her latest band The Julie Ruin popped up on Late Night With Seth Meyers last night to perform a live version of “I Decide,” off their newly released sophomore album Hit Reset. Wouldn’t you know it, but 27 years of performance experience paid off, and Hanna’s new band put on a really good show.

The A.V. Club’s Chris Mincher described Hit Reset as an “unconstrained, confident collection of dance-punk cuts that bubbles with exuberance even as it digs deeper into [Hanna’s] favorite melancholy themes.” That all checks out with last night’s performance. It’s pretty clear that, despite any health issues she may be dealing with, the 47-year-old former Bikini Kill lead singer still has enough fuel in the tank to travel a lot of road.
