Entertainment Weekly debuted a new image from Kong: Skull Island of the actual King Kong. Like King Kongs before him, the dude looks big and mad. The picture shows him, teeth bared, raging at something off screen.
Director Jordan Vogt-Roberts explained in an accompanying interview that his Kong is more indebted to the original version than Peter Jackson’s in 2005. (No mention of Dino De Laurentiis’s take, though.) “We sort of went back to the 1933 version in the sense that he’s a bipedal creature that walks in an upright position, as opposed to the anthropomorphic, anatomically correct silverback gorilla that walks on all fours,” Vogt-Roberts said. The new movie takes place in the 1970s and stars Tom Hiddleston, Brie Larson, and Samuel L. Jackson among others. It comes out March 10, at which point we’ll see whether this one also has a thing for blondes.
