The Last War brings a bonanza of Game Of Thrones dead pool odds
This is Harry Strickland. He’s the Golden Company general who disappointed Cersei with his lack of elephants, but who would’ve guessed he had such a banal name? Photo: HBO

The final season of Game Of Thrones promised two major confrontations: Between the living and the dead, and between whatever was left of the living and Cersei’s forces down in King’s Landing. Despite the depletion of their ranks (though not in terms of the major characters we were expecting), those who’ve sworn allegiance to Daenerys stand on the precipice of battle yet again.

And you know what that means: It’s a bonanza of dead pool odds here at You Win Or You Die. If a character’s within a scorpion’s throw of the capital, they’re on the chopping block. And for the true risk-takers among you, we’ve got a brand new parlay on offer. If you have any questions for the oddsmaker, find him online here and here.

Lannister death parlay

25-1 Cersei, Jaime, and Tyrion all die in episode five
8-1 Cersei and Jaime die together

Individual odds

3-1 Grey Worm

Eckstein the oddsmaker says: After watching his lovers head rolling around in the sand, the Worm will lose his mind and his life.

The A.V. Club says: Giving Grey Worm something to die for is the only storytelling motivation for Missandei’s execution—not that it’s a good reason.

3-1 Varys

Eckstein the oddsmaker says: Can you say “treason”?

The A.V. Club says: Look for The Spider to attempt one last underhanded trick before suffering the type of needless death he was trying to prevent.

5-1 Euron

Eckstein the oddsmaker says: One of his boats—and his brain—is bound to spring a leak!

The A.V. Club says: Cersei’s about to get a lot of people killed. Euron’s somebody she’ll take care of directly.

10-1 Daenerys

Eckstein the oddsmaker says: We know she is going down, but it could be episode six.

The A.V. Club says: Dany lost another dragon, but she’ll be hanging on for another episode.

20-1 Brienne

Eckstein the oddsmaker says: Rejuvenated after a tumble with Jaime, Ser Brienne is gonna hang for a while.

The A.V. Club says: We’re betting Brienne stays north at Sansa’s side, then rides south with her to pick through the rubble.

25-1 Bronn

Eckstein the oddsmaker says: One of my fav characters, so my odds might be a little off.

The A.V. Club says: He has to survive, if only to ascend to his promised role as lord of Highgarden.

25-1 Bran

Eckstein the oddsmaker says: Bran will find a weird looking tree up north, and hopefully, we never hear from him again,

The A.V. Club says: We’ll see Bran in the finale, and he’ll see us today, tomorrow, yesterday, decades from now, a few weeks ago, every year on your name day for the rest of your life…

30-1 Arya

Eckstein the oddsmaker says: So much killing yet to be done!

The A.V. Club says: If anyone’s making it to the end of this thing, it’s her.

8-1 The field: Cersei, Jon, Sansa, Jaime, Tyrion, The Hound, The Mountain, Davos, Gendry, Harry Strickland

Prophecies for profit

12-1 Cersei uses wildfire on King’s Landing

Eckstein the oddsmakr says: Why? Remember in the earlier episodes, both Bran & Danny had visions of the city, and it was decimated…

The A.V. Club says: Viewers/listeners of Winter Is Here will know whom we think is likeliest to use wildfire in this episode.

The odds reverse for CleganeBowl

1-2 The Mountain
2-1 The Hound
3-1 Both die

Eckstein the oddsmaker says: We had The Hound winning and lopping off the head of his brother, but some new information has come to light, and we are gonna reverse course, and make The Mountain a 2/1 favorite.

The A.V. Club says: But we’re leaving out the true winner: The television viewing public.
