The latest cast member of the Poltergeist remake gets pushed into place
As if manipulated by some vast, pervasive, invisible hand (in the Adam Smith as well as supernatural sense), the cast of MGM’s Poltergeist remake is being pushed into place. Reports Coming Soon, actress Saxon Sharbino has signed on to play Kendra Bowen, the eldest daughter of the beleaguered Bowen family, which seeks to defend its home against the dark powers of the vengeful dead using, we think, enlightened self-interest. Also cast so far are Sam Rockwell, Rosemarie DeWitt, and Jared Harris; Sam Raimi is producing, and Monster House’s Gil Kenan is directing. Sharbino is best known for her role in the short-lived Fox series Touch—which, coincidentally, is what evil ghosts (and intangible free-market forces) might do to her in the new Poltergeist.
